The Receptionist Story

In my company, the only other woman is the receptionist. 30 or 40 something, and has no idea whatsoever about game. She actually just came about a few weeks ago, replacing the previous receptionist, who always acted like mom to all of us.

Today she went around and asked each one of us, "do you have a magazine that you have read or anything like that?" Perhaps she feel a bit bored in the office full of people talking only about thing she doesn't have a clue of.

I heard everybody answered lazily and as if in slow motion, "no.."

We're a bunch of geeks here, lady. We read stuff from the Internet. We don't buy and read magazine unless the whole thing talk only about some cool special effects in games or movies. After all, we don't have time to read magazine really. If there's any free time we would rather spend it doing endless coding, modelling, or playing online games with our mates.

She could be the only normal person around here. I'm the second normal.
